La Zambonina estate consists of an historic villa built in the 17th century remaining in the family for generations. It is surrounded by rich farmland cultivating and producing rice and grains taking pride in preserving this local agricultural tradition.
La Zambonina Estate belonging to Alvise and Marina Cicogna is situated just 2 kilometers from a natural fresh water Spring, creating a beautiful habitat where wild ducks and herons nest. La Zambonina has been producing rice for over 300 years thanks to the rich soil and natural Spring waters. This, together with many years of experience and above all, great passion and dedication, result in the unique quality of our product. La Zambonina prides itself in following the highest standards in all stages of production,
from planting to packaging.
Being aware of the importance of environmental sustainability we have recently implemented
organic farming methods and we now offer customers our certified organic rice. Vialone Nano is one of our special varieties, its porous grain allows it to absorb the flavors of the sauce whilst maintaining its shape. It is an excellent choice for all types of risotto and is traditionally used for meat based recipes.
Our Canaroli rice has a longer grain and is more suitable for a smoother risotto and
is ideally combined with herbs, vegetables, saffron or used for a light rice salad.
The Vialone Nano, both conventional and organic, is one of our excellences: it is a rice with a porous grain, which completely absorbs the taste of the seasoning used. It is particularly suitable for all risottos, especially risotto with meat sauce. Excellent cooking resistance, the grain maintains its consistency for a long time even once cooked.
Carnaroli, both conventional and organic, our other flagship product, is a large, glassy grain rice. Precisely for this peculiarity, it is suitable for soft risottos, excellent for recipes with aromatic vegetables, with saffron and for rice salads.
